There are many ways to get help. Counseling is one option.

No matter what you are going through, there are books, workshops, retreats, and plenty of resources that can speak into your situation. I'm happy to provide you with suggestions, and I hope this website can be a helpful starting point.

What sets counseling apart is that it is tailored specifically to your individual needs.

Counseling can be even more impactful then a book or a workshop because it is more personal. It is a chance to dig deeper in a supportive and hopeful setting. You are setting time aside to intentionally focus on your self and your story. And the goal is your own transformation, which affects everything and everyone around you.

Even so, books, workshops, retreats, and other resources can be a wonderful complement to therapy. I regularly take advantage of all of the above and I advise my clients to as well. I am a firm believer in approaching your growth from all angles!

The relationship you have with your counselor is the most important factor in the outcome.

It's true! The connection you have with your therapist is more crucial in your growth and healing than any particular technique or method. There is plenty of research to support this. That's why I will check in with you to make sure you feel that working with me is a good fit, or not. My goal is always to get you the help you need, whether it be with me or elsewhere.

You can benefit from counseling no matter where you are in life.

Counseling can be powerful no matter what your circumstances happen to be. Your life matters, even if you don't think your situation is "as bad as that person's." Comparing your life to someone else's only minimizes the legitimacy of what you are experiencing. Don't let comparison hold you back from your own growth and healing!

There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living
